A Summary of Christmas Baking

Phew! What an exciting couple of weeks it's been! So many deliveries to so many cake lovers!

I have finally just been able to come out from the kitchen, out of the haze of flour and buttercream, on this Christmas night to tell you all about the magnificent amount of baking that has been happening over the last few weeks here at Bittersweet HQ.

We have been really busy making all sorts of magical Christmas goodies, which hopefully by now have brought lots of warmth and happiness to all the lucky recipients of the many gifts and birthday cakes we have sent out into the world!

There is so much to tell, so for now I will give you a photographic tour of some of what we have been cooking up...

Christmas Spice Dark Chocolate Truffles

Carrot and Coconut Cupcakes for hungry Ice Skaters

How cute are the decorations??

Triple Chocolate Brownies... 9 of the 400 we baked this week!

Chocolate Truffle Cupcakes with Vanilla Icing. Only 4 out of the 600 hundred we baked this week....

Special Happy Birthday Cupcakes for a very special company

Sticky Toffee Birthday Cake with Sea Salt Caramel Fudge. Truly decadent.

Big boxes for a big hearted company, my old friends Collective.
Some of the coolest and most amazing people you will ever meet.

Who happen to really like nice cupcakes!
Including devastatingly good gluten-free/wheat-free cakes!

Deep, golden, buttery Pecan Pie. Warm, nutty, toffee-licious.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
Best wishes for a sweet 2009,
Bittersweet Bakers

Just Brilliant

We went to see Eddie Izzard in the west end last night and I picked up this t-shirt. I am not usually a fan t-shirt sort of person, but not only do I love this sketch (watch it on You Tube if you haven't seen it before) but Cake or Death pretty much sums up how I feel about eating good food. What is the point of life if you don't eat something amazing every single day?

A Ginger and Guinness Cake for Steve! Happy Birthday and thanks so much for all your help!

Also, here is an after photo of what the frozen ginger snap balls bake up into. Just perfect!
